‘MobLand’ Sets Season 2 Release Date Following Tom Hardy Fallout, Drops First Trailer
“MobLand” Season 2 has an official premiere date at Paramount+.
The 10-episode second season of the British crime drama will debut on Sept. 18, with Paramount also releasing a first-look teaser, which can be seen below.
News of the second season release date comes not long after it was reported that series star Tom Hardy will return Season 3 after a previous fallout with the show’s producers led to him briefly exiting the series. A recent meeting in London between Hardy and the show’s higher ups led to a breakthrough and ultimately his return.
The official description for Season 2 states:
Popular on Variety
“The second season will see the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire – and Harry Da Souza (Hardy), their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer’, must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.”
The series also stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer, and Toby Jones.
“MobLand” was created by Ronan Bennett. Jez Butterworth serves as executive producer and showrunner. Both Hardy and Guy Ritchie are also executive producers along with David C. Glasser, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Keith Cox. The series is produced in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.
